The Brief
In order to expand their capabilities, whilst boosting efficiency and safety, our client required an all-new laboratory workshop to be designed.
It would be essential for the new lab to possess the following properties:
- Strength: A professional quality system would be vital with heavy load capacities and overall durability being of the utmost importance for all workstations and storage systems
- Flexibility: With the new lab being used for a wide range of demanding activities, a modular system which could be easily reconfigured, adapted and expanded would be an essential requirement
- Organised Storage: Our client required the lab to be a well organised environment where it would be easy to access, identify and separate tools, components and equipment.
The Solution
CSI provided a Bott Cubio based modular system which was perfectly suited to the client’s requirements. With a combination of static and mobile cabinets, the installation could be easily arranged into a variety of possible configurations, ensuring that equipment and components could always be kept close to hand for any given task.
With their reinforced steel housings (capable of supporting up to 1 tonne total capacity), 75kg UDL capacity drawers with 100% extension capability and exceptionally robust worktops, there would be no question that the Bott Cubio range would be strong enough to withstand the rigours of daily use in a demanding environment such as our client’s laboratory workshop.
A selection of sturdy storage cupboards and wall-mounted lockable cabinets were seamlessly integrated into the workshop to allow valuable and sensitive equipment to be neatly organised and securely stored away.
To complete the space, an array of wall-mounted Perfo panels, finished in matching anthracite grey, were installed; these would provide adaptable, easy-access storage for tools, small parts and consumables.
