Medequip

CSI installs industrial shelving system in Medequip’s new warehouse facility.

For the last decade, Medequip has offered unparalleled expertise in the selection and distribution of home and community care equipment. With warehouses and distribution centres across the UK, the company combines a large range of equipment with excellent service to enhance care delivery, patient independence and rehabilitation.

Due to a need to increase their stock holding levels, Medequip opened a second warehouse at their West Lothian facility.

Having impressed Medequip with previous work, CSI (formerly ESE) were selected to provide a shelving system for the new warehouse.

Prior to installation, CSI’s solutions team conducted a detailed site survey of the premises and held several meetings with the Medequip team to identify the right storage solution for their needs. Heavy duty Dexion Longspan shelving was identified as the appropriate solution for this project.

With uninterrupted frames spanning 2012mm in each bay, Longspan shelving would easily hold large and awkwardly shaped items in a way that minimises lost space, making it the best option for storing Medequip’s wide and varied product range. CSI fitted each bay with two, high-load capacity, steel shelf levels for the storage of wheelchairs and mobility assistive equipment. A third shelf level was fitted with euro containers for holding smaller products and spare parts.

As Dexion Longspan is a lock-in system requiring no special tools, CSI were able to install the industrial shelving quickly and easily, allowing Medequip to get their new warehouse operational with minimal delay.

CSI delivered this project on time and within budget.
