Project Details: Scotland’s School of Innovation, Kelvinside Academy

Location: Glasgow

Sector: Education

Project Value: £18,000+

Scope of Works: Bott workplace storage equipment studio fit-out

After 10 years in the planning, Scotland’s School of Innovation opened its doors, welcoming its first students in September 2019.

Based at Kelvinside Academy’s Glasgow’s West End Campus, the School of Innovation is the first of its kind in the UK.

Designed to resemble a modern architectural studio, Kelvinside Academy wanted to fit-out their newly completed Fabrication and Digital Studios with high quality equipment that would not only match the chosen aesthetics, but be tough, durable and capable of withstanding daily usage within a busy learning environment.

David Miller, Director of School of Innovation, said he considered a few product options, but it was Bott workplace storage equipment that stood out from the very beginning thanks to its innovative design and superior quality.

The Project Team at Kelvinside Academy were completely satisfied with the end result. They were particularly impressed by the superior quality of the Bott equipment and service they received from CSI, from their initial contact through conception, to the final installation.

All equipment was assembled and installed onsite in less than 3 days by CSI’s experienced and dedicated installations team, much to the delight of the School’s Director:

“It’s fitting that the first innovation school in Europe aimed at young people is located just a stone’s throw from Botanic Gardens and the Kibble Palace, built by one of Glasgow’s great Victorian entrepreneur inventors.

In the Innovation School, we aim to re-capture the spirit of John Kibble, and a whole new generation of entrepreneurs. The innovation and design studios are already alive with inventions, prototypes and design decisions based on efficacy and impact.

“We are delighted that CSI has been able to play a part in the Innovation School journey – the equipment and storage provide exactly the right environment where creativity can thrive.”

David Miller, Director of the NuVu Innovation School
